Gluck: Orpheus and Eurydice

English Touring Opera retells the Orpheus myth as a journey through grief, memory and an unstable inner world, with singers and dancers.

English Touring Opera’s retelling follows Orpheus from grief into the Underworld, where memory and reality shift around his search for Eurydice. Composer Leo Grant combines new instrumental and electronic reworkings with Gluck’s music, while singers and dancers perform under the direction of Iwan Davies and Jenny Ogilvie. The March performance is in English with English captions, carries age guidance 12+, and warns of suicidal ideation and depictions of grief.
