Small Wonders: Reimagining British Art
About
An exhibition of 50 new small-scale works by leading British artists responding to their earlier British Art Show presentations, spanning five decades of British art.
Small Wonders: Reimagining British Art brings together 50 artists who have taken part in the British Art Show since it began in 1979, each invited to create a new small-scale work responding to their earlier presentation. Inspired by Marcel Duchamp's idea of a "portable museum", the show gathers these intimate pieces into a journey through five decades of British art. The exhibition is open 10am–5pm (closed Mondays), with late openings until 8pm on Wednesday 30 September and Wednesday 14 October, Relaxed Days on 17 and 22 September/October, and a Family Day on Saturday 10 October.
