The future of materials discovery
About
A free two-day Royal Society discussion meeting on how machine learning, robotics and advanced characterisation are transforming materials discovery.
Organised by Professor Robert G Palgrave and Sir Richard Catlow FRS, this discussion meeting brings together researchers from materials science, chemistry, artificial intelligence and philosophy. Talks cover machine learning, generative models, robotic laboratories and advanced characterisation, examining experimental validation, scientific understanding and the path from prediction to application. A poster session takes place on the first day, with submissions due by 19 February 2027. The event is aimed at researchers in relevant fields, with both in-person and virtual attendance available and advance registration required.
