Beginners Comedy Course — 2027 cohorts

Mike Gunn teaches a six-week beginners course in stand-up comedy, ending with a public student showcase.

Two enrolment cohorts share a curriculum covering joke and story construction, timing, microphone technique, punchlines and audience engagement. The first meets on 14, 21 and 28 February and 7, 14 and 21 March 2027; the second meets on 4, 11, 18 and 25 April and 2 and 9 May 2027. Each class runs 11:00–13:00. On the final day, the normal class is followed by a public showcase at 14:30, with doors at 13:30 and an approximate finish around 16:30; no exact showcase end is asserted. Each student performs about five minutes. Fifteen enrolment places are advertised per cohort. Current course booking products cost £340 each, while older general prose still says £300 per person; the current booking amount is retained and the discrepancy qualified.
