About

A display exploring why everyday objects were deliberately broken, buried and burned in ancient Egypt.

The display uses fragmentary pots, figurines and amulets to examine ritual damage and what it reveals about ordinary lives and beliefs in ancient Egypt. It is based on UCL doctoral research and is accessible during the Petrie Museum's published opening hours.
