The Big Dune Draw
About
A free family drawing event on the Gwithian dunes exploring insect and spider tracks, followed by an exhibition and refreshments at Gwithian Chapel.
Part of the 2026 Big Draw Festival under the theme #MakingAMark, this annual event invites adults, children and families to draw inspiration from the traces insects and spiders leave on the Towans — tracks in sand and feeding patterns on plants. Artists Hilary Jean Gibson and Dominica Williamson lead the outdoor session from 12.30pm to 3pm, moving indoors to the chapel if weather is poor. From 3.30pm to 5.30pm the chapel hosts an exhibition of artwork from the Friends of the Towans Art Club, a short family-made film, photographs and refreshments.
