Street Smart screening

A special big-screen screening of the hip-hop documentary Street Smart at Docks Academy, celebrating 15 years of Urban Kingdom.

Filmed over seven years and not available online, Street Smart explores how American hip-hop gave a generation of young people in Britain a voice through decades of struggle, creativity and change. The film features rare, uncensored interviews with figures including Ghostface Killah, Method Man and Statik Selektah, plus behind-the-scenes footage of all the living members of Wu-Tang Clan together in the UK. As part of Urban Kingdom's 15th anniversary, Docks Academy is one of a limited number of venues hosting the screening, which runs approximately 80 minutes and is followed by a soundtrack of classic hip-hop. The audience will be standing, and under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.
