About
Ben Proudfoot’s documentary follows 93-year-old filmmaker Chris Hesse as he works to recover and repatriate an archive documenting Ghana’s liberation and the birth of African independence.
Hesse was personal cameraman to Ghanaian president Kwame Nkrumah. The film follows his effort to rescue and return reels of footage documenting Ghana’s independence and the wider African liberation movements of the 1950s and 1960s.
