Out of the Sand: Ancient Egypt Rediscovered

A gallery exhibition of Egyptian antiquities, works on paper and early photography tracing ancient Egypt's art and its later study and documentation.

Out of the Sand: Ancient Egypt Rediscovered brings together antiquities, works on paper and early photography to examine the art and material culture of ancient Egypt, as well as its later study and documentation. Spanning antiquity to the modern era, the exhibition traces how Egypt's monuments, objects and history have been preserved and understood across time. The display includes 19th-century paintings, works on paper, Egyptian antiquities and photographs, with a published catalogue accompanying the show.
