Creating Spaces of Possibility: Applying Theory to Your Practice

An interactive in-person session for cultural educators exploring how critical theory on equity, power and participation can be applied to practice with children and young people.

Dr Chrissie Tiller and Stella Barnes lead an interactive session drawing on Tiller's essay Spaces of Possibility and Pockets of Hope. Participants reflect on individual and organisational values and purpose, examining how cultural education is shaped by whose voices are heard and who has access to participate. The session invites practitioners to apply critical theory to real work with children and young people and to design more equitable, participatory learning experiences.
