George Bain: The Continuous Line
About
A selection from Groam House Museum’s George Bain Collection explores how the Scottish artist and educator studied and reconstructed intricate Celtic designs. The exhibition also considers drawing as a way of understanding the world and Bain’s connection to the Royal Scottish Academy’s RSA200 programme.
Groam House Museum presents a small selection of artworks and objects from its George Bain Collection, recognised as a Collection of National Significance to Scotland. The exhibition examines Bain’s close study of Celtic designs and his interest in drawing as a way to observe, interpret and communicate. It is part of RSA200: Celebrating Together, marking the Royal Scottish Academy’s bicentenary.
