Forgotten Fleece Tales
About
A Scottish touring textile-arts exhibition brings together work made from unwanted Scottish fleece, paired with commissioned stories that explore the wool’s folklore, landscape and heritage.
The exhibition combines wearable clothing, wall hangings, home textiles, sculptural pieces and interactive experiences. Ardbeag Crafts describes its collection as a meeting point for art, craft, story and ecology, using unwanted organic Scottish fleece and by-products of fleece processing. Folklorist and writer Alicia Anne Adams wrote a short piece of fiction for each creation; visitors can read the stories or use QR codes to watch recordings. The exhibition also features a panel on textiles in Scottish lore and traditional stories. It is free to visit in the museum galleries. The museum states the run begins 31 October 2026 and continues “to February 2027”; no closing day is supplied.
