About
Professor Cahal McLaughlin explores how documentary film and first-hand testimony from the Prisons Memory Archive can inform discussion of Northern Ireland’s conflict and its legacy.
The lecture draws on 300 hours of audiovisual recordings from 160 people connected to the empty prisons used during the Troubles. It considers how first-hand accounts can help address a contested past in the present.
