Monstering the Rocketman

A comedy play dramatising Elton John's real-life libel battle with The Sun newspaper, at Cast Theatre in Doncaster.

This award-winning show, a Fringe First winner at Edinburgh 2025, tells the true story of Britain's largest-ever libel case, in which Elton John sued The Sun over false allegations. The 75-minute play pits the pop star against editor Kelvin Mackenzie in an epic Eighties clash featuring Ferraris, punch-ups, gangsters, bugged phone calls, Princess Diana and the Vice Squad. It received sixteen 4- and 5-star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe.
