Introduction to Creative Flash Photography

Photographer David Kearley leads a practical introduction to off-camera flash, using lighting demonstrations and portrait exercises to explore the direction and softness of light.

This two-hour, hands-on workshop introduces off-camera flash through live demonstrations and practical portrait-lighting exercises. Participants can experiment with how the position, direction, power and softness of one flash affect an image, with professional lighting equipment provided. Photographer David Kearley leads the session. It is suitable for ages 15 and older and for beginners; bring a camera with manual exposure controls, but no flash equipment is required.
