Wine Unearthed London: Vine to Wine

A guided wine workshop explores grape varieties, production methods and styles through fifteen wines and a three-course paired lunch.

The morning compares four whites and two reds, including production techniques and the effect of oak. Three wines accompany lunch. Afternoon tasting covers two sparkling wines, a rosé, two further reds and a Port, with blind comparison of price and quality and discussion of sparkling and fortified wine production. Both workshops introduce tasting technique, label terminology, food pairing, corked wine and decanting. Suitable for beginners and other wine drinkers; no prior knowledge or formal dress code is required. An expert sommelier leads the day, but the current facilitator is unnamed.
