A mass-start mountain bike snow race descending over 900m down Aonach Mòr, opening Nevis Range's bike season.

MacAvalanche is Nevis Range's bike season opener, a mass-start race for mountain bikers and hardtail riders with over 200 riders starting above the top station and descending more than 900m of snow. Riders complete seeding stages in the morning, take the gondola uplift, then push up from the Snowgoose Café to a start line revealed at the riders' briefing. Separate mass starts are held for non-e-bike riders at 2:30pm and e-bikers at 2:45pm, with prize giving from 3:30pm. Entry is open to riders aged 18 and over, and spectators can watch free from the bottom station or buy a gondola ticket to view from the mountain.
