Nadja
About
In a contemporary New York City, members of a dysfunctional family of vampires are trying to come to terms with each other, in the wake of their father's death. Meanwhile, they are being hunted by Dr. Van Helsing and his hapless nephew. As in all good vampire movies, forces of love are pitted against forces of destruction.
ICA describes Nadja as Michael Almereyda’s postmodern reimagining of the Dracula myth, following estranged vampire twins Nadja and Edgar after their father’s death. The film combines high-contrast black-and-white 35mm cinematography with Pixelvision video. ICA says the film is newly restored in 4K, and the Prince Charles Cinema’s 29 October UK Cinema API listing marks its screening as 4K. Close-Up’s saved listings have no format label, so its projection format is unspecified.
