About
A talk about the Rotherwas Royal Ordnance Factory and the women known as the Canary Girls, whose skin and hair turned yellow through contact with TNT chemicals. A short AGM precedes the talk.
The Rotherwas Royal Ordnance Factory opened in 1916 as a munitions filling factory and grew to more than 300 acres and 370 buildings. The factory employed mainly women munition workers, later known as the Canary Girls, whose skin and hair could turn yellow through contact with TNT chemicals. The programme says a short AGM precedes the talk.
