Jugroom Fort 2007

Former Apache flight commander Tom O’Malley recounts the 2007 rescue mission at Jugroom Fort.

Tom O’Malley describes the decision-making and dangers involved in the 2007 Apache rescue of Lance Corporal Matthew Ford at Jugroom Fort, Afghanistan. The lecture takes place in front of Apache ZJ224, one of the aircraft involved in the mission, and reflects on the events from the perspective of the flight commander who led it. An optional chilli-and-rice dinner, with a vegetarian option, is served in the Apache Café before the lecture.
