History of Horror Walk
About
A 90-minute guided evening walk through the West End exploring London's gothic horror literature, films and theatre history.
Led by horror writer and qualified guide David Turnbull, this 90-minute linear walk traces the history of horror in London's West End, from gothic novels like Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde and The Picture of Dorian Gray to their stage and screen adaptations. The route takes in key filming locations, including Hammer House, and covers topics such as Penny Dreadfuls, silent cinema and the Londoners behind Universal's monster icons. The walk starts at Charing Cross Station and ends at Piccadilly Circus, is step-free, and attendees leave with a curated list of horror novels and films.
