Christmas at Chatsworth

Explore the decorated house’s “12 Days of Christmas” installations and the garden’s evening light-and-sound trail; relaxed house sessions are offered on selected November dates with reduced audio and visual effects, fewer visitors and access to a quiet space.

The house reimagines “The 12 Days of Christmas” with sculpture, illustration, animation, sound and contemporary installations alongside objects from the Devonshire Collections. The garden trail follows a roughly 2 km route past the Rock Garden, Maze, Bamboo Walk and Broad Walk, ending with an animated projection on the South Façade. The trail takes about 45–60 minutes and is best viewed from dusk. Relaxed house sessions on 9, 10, 16 and 17 November reduce audio and visual effects, increase light in darker areas, limit visitor numbers and provide access to a quiet space; the garden trail itself is not adapted. House-and-garden tickets include farmyard/playground access. The Christmas Market is included from 7 November to 13 December, but not from 14 December to 3 January. Advance booking is essential.
