Historic Theatre Tours Jan – March 2027

A guided 90-minute tour of the 200-year-old Regency Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds, exploring its history front of house and behind the scenes.

Led by the theatre's tour guides, these tours take visitors around the 200-year-old William Wilkins-designed playhouse, from front of house to behind the scenes, uncovering the building's history as the last remaining working Regency theatre in the country. Participants get to step onto the stage where performers such as Ian McKellen and Judi Dench have appeared. Tours last approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, are suitable for ages 10+, and step-free tours are available for those with access requirements.
