It's A Doddle

A 24-hour fundraising challenge on 1-2 December 2026 where people of all ages and abilities repeatedly ascend Dodd near Keswick to collectively climb the height of Everest.

It's A Doddle is a 24-hour Everesting challenge marking the launch of the Big Give Christmas Challenge, raising funds for the Lake District Calvert Trust. Participants climb the 269m accessible forestry track up Dodd behind the Calvert Lakes activity centre as many times as they can — walking, running, cycling, riding, using a tramper or wheelchair, with dogs welcome. Around 33 ascents equal one Everest, and last year supporters collectively climbed Everest 4.6 times. Donations made during the Big Give week are doubled and support outdoor adventures for people with disabilities, their friends, families and carers.
