Scottish National Jazz Orchestra presents Acoustic Duke

The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, directed by Calum Gourlay, performs Duke Ellington's music across his fifty-year career, with an opening set from the Scottish National Youth Jazz Orchestra.

The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra celebrates Duke Ellington with a programme spanning his fifty years as a bandleader, following its acclaimed album In the Spirit of Duke. The Scottish National Youth Jazz Orchestra opens with Ellington classics and rarities, and both orchestras perform works arranged to exploit the natural acoustics of the hall. The concert emphasises the warmth, balance and dynamic range of the big band tradition.
