60 Years of Frome Museum
About
A 60th-anniversary exhibition tracing Frome Museum from its early home on Church Steps to its present North Parade building, through archives, past exhibitions and objects from the collections.
The exhibition follows the museum’s development from its beginnings on Church Steps, through its former Wine Street premises, to the North Parade building built in 1869 for the Frome Literary and Scientific Institution. It brings together previously unseen Lit & Sci archives, memories of past exhibitions and examples from the museum’s early and recent collections. It also explores the museum’s work with local groups, schools and villages, and invites visitors to share ideas for its future and for exhibitions in 2027.
