Skate by the lake

A 200-square-metre outdoor ice rink on the shores of Ullswater returns for the festive season, open daily to hotel guests, locals and visitors.

Another Place, The Lake transforms its grounds each winter with a 200-square-metre ice rink overlooking Ullswater, accompanied by a 16ft Christmas tree and festive lights. The rink is open every day from 3 December to 3 January, with varying opening hours across the week: Friday to Sunday 10am-8pm, Monday and Tuesday 3-8pm, and Wednesday and Thursday 12-8pm. Skate aids are available for children, and visitors can add a woodfired pizza from The Glasshouse plus mulled wine, cider or hot chocolate to their booking. The rink can also be hired exclusively by groups and schools.
