BIARGS/Intuitive Pre-Congress Masterclass 2026

A full-day hands-on masterclass on advanced robotic surgery skills, strategy and safety for gynaecological surgical teams at the Newcastle Surgical Training Centre.

This full-day pre-congress masterclass, organised by BIARGS and sponsored by Intuitive Surgical, focuses on advanced robotic surgical skills, strategy and safety rather than basic robot operation. The morning features four hands-on stations covering console skills, port placement, troubleshooting and emergency undocking, while the afternoon addresses difficult cases such as the hostile pelvis, very large uterus, deep endometriosis, bleeding and suturing. It concludes with an unrehearsed whole-team crisis simulation followed by a structured debrief. The course is aimed at consultant gynaecologists, senior trainees and fellows, SCPs and robotic theatre teams.
