Black Marble

Black Marble, the NYC cold wave synth project of Chris Stewart, performs live with four albums to his name, most recently Fast Idol (2022) on Sacred Bones.

Black Marble is the solo project of Chris Stewart, who emerged from New York's cold wave revival scene in the early 2010s. He has released four albums, most recently Fast Idol (2022) on Sacred Bones, blending moody synthwave production with melodic arrangements in the tradition of early synth pioneers. Writing and playing everything himself, Stewart continues the tradition of late-1970s synth acts like Martin Dupont and Modern Art.
