About
Folk band Kathryn Tickell & The Darkening perform live.
Kathryn Tickell, a champion of the Northumbrian pipes, leads The Darkening. The band explores the connecting threads of music, landscape, and people over almost 2000 years, based in the shadow of Hadrian’s Wall. The Darkening features Tickell on Northumbrian smallpipes, fiddle, and vocals, alongside Amy Thatcher, Heather Cartwright, Joe Truswell, and Stef Conner.
