Grand Cinema: Mary Poppins (1964) (U) (1965)

A nostalgic afternoon screening of the 1964 film Mary Poppins in Beamish's restored 1950s Grand cinema.

Beamish screens the classic 1964 musical Mary Poppins in its beautifully restored 1950s Grand cinema, recreated in the museum's 1950s Town from the original Ryhope cinema in Sunderland. The film follows a magical nanny in turn-of-the-century London who uses music and adventure to help two neglected children grow closer to their father. Visitors can enter the museum up to an hour before the showing and the cinema 20 minutes beforehand; tickets must be pre-booked online and Beamish Unlimited Passes are not valid for this event.
