The British Folklore of Stone Circles
About
Folklorist Jon Norman Mason explores the legends and archaeology of Britain's stone circles in a Seed Talks evening with Q&A.
Seed Talks presents an evening talk on the folklore of Britain's stone circles, from Stonehenge to the hundreds of lesser-known neolithic monuments across the UK. Folklorist, historian and storyteller Dr Jon Norman Mason explores the tales and beliefs that have gathered around the stones — lost kings, petrified sinners, fairies and giants — alongside the archaeology offering a modern understanding of what the stones mean. Doors open at 7pm with the talk starting at 7:30pm, followed by a Q&A. The event is for ages 16+ and runs about two and a half hours.
