Modelling the Undead: Zombies and Health
About
An interactive zombie-pandemic simulation game and talk exploring real-world epidemiology and public health decision-making, part of IF Oxford.
Participants take on roles such as government official, military strategist, healthcare leader or politician to respond to a fictional zombie outbreak, making decisions that shape how the disease spreads and resources are allocated. The session demonstrates the modelling principles behind real public health decisions, from pandemics to medicines development. It runs for two hours with Phil McEwan, Cerys Mitchell and Thomas Padgett from HEOR, and is followed by a drinks reception closing the Festival. Aimed at teenagers and adults, with under-16s accompanied by a responsible adult.
