A free archive open day with document displays, historic film screenings and research advice.
Celebrate West Sussex Record Office’s 80th birthday with displays of original documents, including the Oslac Charter, screenings of old West Sussex cinefilm, and staff advice on researching family, local and house history. Members of the West Sussex Archives Society will answer questions. The open day runs from 10am to 3.30pm. Behind-the-scenes visits are limited and require advance booking; a limited number of places may also be available on the day. These visits involve walking, standing and stairs, and include enclosed strongrooms. Contact the organiser in advance about mobility needs; the tours may not suit people with claustrophobia.
