About
Volunteers sow collected North Pennines wildflower seeds for future upland hay-meadow planting.
Participants sort and sow seeds from long-lived native wildflowers, including wood crane’s-bill, great burnet, devil’s-bit scabious and lady’s-mantles. The seeds are started in trays or pots and tended for a year before the plants are used to enhance upland hay meadows. Training and equipment are provided; children must be supervised by an adult.
