About
Petra Cox leads a walking tour tracing London’s sewer history across the Erith Marshes.
The above-ground Open City tour follows part of the southern outfall sewer towards Crossness Pumping Station, considers later sewage treatment and Tideway works, and returns to Lakeside Centre. The route is approximately four miles over potentially muddy ground.
