About

An intimate literary dinner exploring the theme of taste, with readings from Annie Lord, Amelia Abraham and Angela Hui over a shared meal at Bistrotheque.

COMMONPLACE is a series of intimate literary dinners hosted by William Rayfet Hunter, bringing writers and guests together around a shared theme, table and meal. This edition explores taste — appetite, pleasure, disgust and how our judgements are shaped by culture, class and fashion — through writing, food and conversation. Annie Lord, Amelia Abraham and Angela Hui respond to the theme with readings and reflections, accompanied by a family-style set menu dinner. The evening sits somewhere between a literary event and a dinner party, running from 6:30pm to 10:30pm.
