About

A day festival of talks and conversations on alternatives to neoliberalism, headlined by Ann Pettifor, at Lewes Town Hall.

This one-day festival in Lewes brings together speakers to debate what might replace five decades of neoliberal economics. Ann Pettifor opens with a keynote based on her book The Global Casino, on how unregulated financial markets shape prices and costs. Daniela Gabor, MP Clive Lewis and We Own It director Cat Hobbs discuss public ownership and a new political settlement, and Kate Pickett talks with political economist Andrew Simms about inequality and her book The Good Society and How We Make It. A Keir Hardie Café and Ideas Market accompany the talks, and the event is open to all.
