Asian Arts Agency: Arun Ghosh presents Aaj Kal Trio

UK premiere of Arun Ghosh's IndoJazz Aaj Kal Trio, blending clarinet, tabla and double bass, presented by Asian Arts Agency's New Sounds Festival.

British Asian clarinettist Arun Ghosh premieres his new trio at Arnolfini, featuring Shivraj Singh on double bass and tabla player Dalbir Singh Rattan. The group explores the raags and taals of Ghosh's albums Northern Namaste and A South Asian Suite, with tabla-driven grooves underpinning his clarinet improvisations. The trio's sound draws on South Asian melodies alongside influences from drum 'n' bass, UK downtempo and 1990s British guitar music. The project was commissioned and produced by Asian Arts Agency for its New Sounds Festival 2026.
