Mark Lockheart – Shapeshifter Trio

Mark Lockheart's Shapeshifter Trio, with Huw V Williams and Jay Davis, plays two sets of genre-blending jazz at the Vortex Jazz Club.

Shapeshifter is a new trio led by saxophonist and bass clarinettist Mark Lockheart with bassist Huw V Williams and drummer Jay Davis. The band shifts between jazz, rock, classical and free improvisation, stitching together soundscapes and grooves with dark textures and dramatic musical shifts. Their debut album was released on vinyl and CD in March 2026, and the night features two sets of music.
