David Olusoga – A Global History of the British Cup of Tea

Historian David Olusoga gives a talk tracing the global history of tea, followed by a Q&A and book signing.

In this new talk, Professor David Olusoga explores how tea links 350 years of British history to China, India, the Americas and beyond, touching on the Boston Tea Party, the Opium Wars and the British East India Company. He uses art, photography and humour to uncover the drink's history of industrial espionage, migration within India and the creation of British domestic traditions. A Q&A session and book signing follow the talk.
