About

A free 45-minute lunchtime talk at Kelham Island Museum exploring Christmas festivities and traditions in Tudor England.

Local historian Janet Ridler leads this 45-minute lunchtime talk on Christmas in the 16th century, when the festive season was a 12-day festival of revelry and pageants. The talk covers the feasts, festivals and customs of the Tudor Royal Court and traces how they shaped Christmas traditions still practised today. It takes place in person at Kelham Island Museum as part of Sheffield Museums' talks programme.
