The History of Clacton RNLI

A talk by local photographer and speaker Chris Ware on the history of the Clacton RNLI, from the 1828 rescue to the first lifeboat.

Chris Ware, a local photographer and speaker associated with RNLI Clacton, presents the history of the station. He covers the earliest recorded rescue in 1828, the establishment of the lifeboathouse in 1878 just seven years after the founding of the seaside town, and the gifting of the first lifeboat, the Albert Edward, by the Freemasons of England. The event takes place at St Osyth Village Hall with a 7:00pm start.
