About
An exhibition of new sculptures, textile pieces and drawings by Mary Redmond exploring Glasgow's post-industrial derelict landscapes.
Mary Redmond's new work draws on her experience of growing up in Glasgow after the collapse of industry, responding to the derelict landscapes prevalent in the city at that time. She uses hand skills and methods of production associated with the working classes of that period to create the pieces. The exhibition comprises a series of sculptures, textile pieces and drawings, and opens with an event on Saturday 3rd October from 2-4pm. Redmond is a Glasgow School of Art Environmental Art graduate and a Paul Hamlyn award recipient whose work has shown at the Henry Moore Institute and elsewhere.
