After School Club: Pottery (5-7 Year Olds)

A hands-on after-school pottery session where 5-7 year olds hand-build clay creatures from a pinch pot and later paint them.

Children aged 5-7 create their own sculpture using hand-building clay, starting from a simple pinch pot and transforming it into a fish, creature or beast of their imagination. The session introduces basic ceramics techniques including sculpting, scoring, slipping and decorating, plus attaching pieces and adding textures. Once the creations have dried, children can return to paint them in colour.
