About

A musical and narrated account of Albert Scrimshaw’s First World War story, with songs, poetry and projected images.

Lester Simpson tells the story of his great-uncle Albert Scrimshaw, who died at Passchendaele, through songs from the period and Simpson’s own music. Narration includes poems by Wilfred Owen, Siegfried Sassoon and Rudyard Kipling, accompanied by projected images. Originally commissioned by Peace Concerts Passchendaele, the performance explores a personal story within the Great War. The published duration is 120 minutes, and the show is suitable for all ages.
