About

An exhibition about the artists and musicians who made wartime Amersham a hub of creative life after refugees from Nazi Europe settled in the town.

Explore photographs by Laelia Goehr, sculpture by Mary Duras and painting by Marie-Louise von Motesiczky in the gallery named after the latter. Their work helps tell the story of refugees who settled around Amersham in the 1930s and wartime. The display also includes Helen Henderson’s contemporary film dis-placed and recorded music by Francisco Ticciati, Walter Goehr and Allan Gray. The exhibition is included with museum admission.
