Introduction to Directing

A five-Saturday course introduces theatre directing through practical exercises and production discussions.

Led by theatre practitioners, the course explores the director’s role and collaboration with actors, writers and designers. It includes practical directing, pitching and stage-configuration exercises, discussion of theatre-industry funding and organisation, and a closing panel with an artistic director and freelancers. The page describes it as suited to emerging or aspiring directors; it also offers a taster for those considering the MFA Theatre Directing course.
