The Poetry Surgery - Whitley Bay

A friendly monthly poetry workshop at Whitley Bay Library combining close reading of celebrated poems with creative writing prompts.

The Poetry Surgery is a low-pressure, accessible workshop run by The Literature Lass (Melina). Each session begins with a close reading of an existing celebrated poem to build analytical skills, followed by writing prompts based on the techniques uncovered. Participants can simply listen or share their own work, and the organiser operates a pay-what-you-can system with free spaces available for those who need them.
