The Man in Search of His Murderer (1931)

A despondent man pays a burglar to do away with him, but when his luck improves he must track down the hired killer before the deed is done.

This early 1930s German comedy-drama follows a man who, at his lowest ebb, contracts a burglar to end his life, only to regret the arrangement once his circumstances brighten. His desperate race to find the killer he himself hired drives the film's darkly comic premise. It was directed by Robert Siodmak and stars Heinz Rühmann, with Lien Deyers among the supporting cast.
